In the name of God the most merciful, the most compassionate Sunnah words of congratulation when a newborn arrives on February 20, 2017 Silence Filed under: , Silence Posted By: Yusuf ShabbirSource: It is mustaḥab (recommended) to congratulate the father of a newborn child as mentioned by Imam Nawawī (d. 676/1277) al- It is mentioned in authentic narratives that the Prophet gnoلى الله عليه وسلم would be to be beg and seek blessings for the newborn baby. For example, when the "Abd Allah ibn al-Zubayr" (d. 73/692) (may Allaah be pleased with him) was born, the Prophet فلى الله وسلم supplicated and sought blesss for him (What it says is the point of arraigo al-Bukhārī, 3909) . Similarly, when Abū Mūsبā al-Ash (d. 44/665) (may Allaah be pleased with him) had a baby, the Prophet فلى الله عليه وسلم supplicated for blesss him ( allegedlyīḥ al-Bukhārī, 5467) . All transmitters of this chain are thiqah (trustworthy) affirmed by Ḥāfiitia Haythamī (d . 807/1405) in Majma attributed to the exceptional al-Zawāid (9: 261). It is also worth noting that this narrative is marfū (attributed to the Prophet чلى الله عليه وسلم), unlike the two following narratives .(2) There is another narrative plea of some tābi (follow of peers): overly rationalized aggregation in specific cases The same supplication has also been narrated from Ḥasan al-Basrī (d. 110/728) in al-Du Legendā (945). Both narratives are ḥasan (aggregable). (3) A third supplication of Ḥasan al-Basrī (d. 110/728): the subject gradually went up, could give thanks to justice, can be granted to you blessed, that will be granted to children, justice can be accepted, and that the third supplication has been transmitted from Ḥasan al-Basirī (d. 110/728) However, this narrative is extremely weak due to Haytham ibn Jammāz, a transmissor repudiated (al-Kāmil, 8: 395; Mīzān al-I Hacktidāl, 4: 319; Lisān al-Mīzān, 8:352). The narrative has also been transmitted in Tārīkh Dimashq (59: 276) through another string with a slight variation in the order of the phrases. However, the narrative is also weak due to Kulthūm ibn Jawshan, a weak transmitter (al-Jarḥ wa al-Tanouncedīl, 7: 164; Tadhkirat al-Ḥuffāz li Ibn al-Qaysarānî, p. 412; Tahdhîb al-Kamāl, 24: 201). However, scholars who have cited this plea include Imam Ibn Qudāmah (d. 620/1223) in al-Mugnî (9: 464) and Ḥāfiitia Ibn al-Qayyim (d. 751/1350) in Tuḥfat al-Mawdūd (p. 29). فا فا فا د د درī And it is recommended [for the father] to respond to the person by congratulating and saying, "May Allah bless you, and may He reward you His blessings, or [say:] Allah rewards you well and bestows upon you what seems to you, or rewards you abundantly, and like this. In conclusion, it is desirable to congratulate the parents of a newborn baby and to seek the blessings of Allah for the child. It is preferable to use the first supplication mentioned above. However, this is not necessary and one will be rewarded for invoking blessings through the other two sentences or, in fact, any other similar phrase. Allah knows better.
